At first look you may think Miranda Lambert is just another pretty blonde country singer, however after the first
listen, you know that there’s more to her than just a pretty face. She has a voice sometimes reminiscent
of a young Natalie Maines. Six of the twelve songs were written by Lambert and she co-wrote another five.
In 2002, she gained national attention when she placed third in Nashville Star (the countrified American Idol).
This is a powerful major label debut, showing that she’s never far from her Texas roots. From the first single,
the critically acclaimed folksy “Me and Charlie, Talking”, to the jumpin’ rocker title track “Kerosene”,.to the blues
driven honky-tonkin’, “I Wanna Die”. to the ballads of “Greyhound Bound For Nowhere” and “Love is Looking
For You”. At 21 years old Miranda Lambert is already a force to be reckoned with.
